With the Supreme Court awarding
a five-year sentence to Sanjay Dutt in the 1993 serial blasts case and giving
him four weeks' time to surrender, the actor is in a race against time to try
and complete all his films.
The actor, who made his debut as a hero
in 1981’s semi-hit Rocky , had quite a few potential blockbuster films in the
pipeline.
Here are some of them:
There’s the Karan Johar-produced Unglee
, directed by Rensil d'Silva, which is slated to come out this year. The
film, which is still being scripted, marks Emraan Hashmi’s first collaboration
with Johar and has a social message.
Trading action for political satire,
Dutt was to unite with Aamir Khan for the first time ever to play a “vital”
supporting role (as a Rajasthani villager, if the rumour mill is to be
believed) in this film which comes out next year..
Dutt
was to essay the vital role of former gambling den owner Sher Jhan in Apoorva
Lakhia’s big budget remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s 1973 classic cop film. This
movie, for which Priyanka Chopra has pocketed Rs 9 crore might see a replacement
for the embattled actor.
Just 12 to 15 days of shooting is left,
said Producer TP Aggarwal of this remake of the Tamil film Saamy . Chances are,
this one will get wrapped up with Dutt, of course, playing the lawman.
Munnabhai Chale Delhi
Subhash Kapoor's (or is it Rajkumar
Hirani; we don't know yet) might just have to wait longer to add a new
installment to the much-loved Munnabhai duology.
"I
can't imagine Munna Bhai series without Sanjay Dutt. But unfortunately, things
are not in our hands," Kapoor told IANS on Thursday
