referred to as ‘Department’. This special task force is formed to finish the
underworld by stepping over the law's boundaries.
Shiva Narayan (Rana
Daggubati). An honest and daredevil cop, He joins a new department led by
Sr.Inspector Mahadev Bhosale (Sanjay Dutt) where their job is to finish the
crime in Mumbai City. Their prime focus are the gangs of Gauhri and
Sauthiya (Vijay Raaz), together they approach their task with ease in order to
maintain peace in the city. In one operation Shiva saves life of a
Gangster-turned-Politician Sarjerao Gaikwad (Amitabh Bachchan) who after this
incident begins to supporting Shiva. What happens next is what the entire film
is about.
The first half of the film is a
crap, where Inspector Mahadev Bhosle (Sanjay Dutt), the boss of Mumbai's
Department and Rana Daggubati (Shiv), goes on killing bunch of underworld
gangs.
Review
Amitabh Bachchan's deadly avatar in
the film is sure to impress you all. He induces life in the film with his
power-packed performance. The tall and beafy Rana Daggubati has no better job
except beating up the goons throughout the movie. His cold expressions and
unpolished Hindi is a sure let down. Sanjay Dutt's performance is average. Madhu Shalini deserves a compliment for her bold and tough role in the
movie. Madhu plays a tough competition to all the men in the movie. Unlike,
Lakshmi Manchu and Anjana Sukhani, Madhu Shalini won't go unnoticeable. Vijay
Raaz performs well.
What’s Gud
Nothing is good except Amithabh Bachchan’s acting. Amitabh Bachchan is outstanding in his cameo appearance. His
all scenes are mind-blowing and the whole character is pretty interesting. If
we remove him from this film, the movie ends up like a ‘B’ grade film.
What’s Bad
- The poor video quality and weird camera angles that distract the viewer; the loud background score. “Camera work tortures your eyes, the sound tortures your ears and the story will torture your brain.
- The film lacks a good script and too many sub-plots adds confusion to it.
- The dialogues are mindless due to poor direction.
- The music is the biggest disaster of Department.
- Camera work is very bad ,it seems that you are watching some Home video.
- On the flip side the entire character of Sanjay Dutt was totally confusing and unexplained.
In short, RGV's Department is a
complete waste of time and money. watch the
movie if you are a fan of Amitabh Bachchan.
