Story

Special Chabbis is based on a real life group of con artists who pulled off many clever robberies during 1980's, and robbed famous businessmen and politicians by pretending to be the CBI or Income tax officers. The movie is highly inspired by the real-life daring heist dated 19-March-1987 where the same group posing as CBI officers executed a daylight income tax raid on the Opera House branch of Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri in Mumbai and disappeared with jewellery worth lakhs.

Special 26 is a very entertaining Bollywood movie to watch. It is a story about 4 guys who pretend to be from the CBI and raid politicians and businessmen who cannot complain since whats been stolen is black money.

Review
The best part of the film would be the remarkable performances delivered by each actor. If you have had enough of Akshay Kumar's comedy genre, check him out in this one.
Manoj Bajpayee's acting skills need no introduction.              He delivers a first rate performance as the relentless intelligence officer Waseem Khan.
Here's someone, who deserves a standing ovation. Yes, Anupam Kher, delivers a splendid performance in Special 26 . He yet again proves his versatility as an actor.
With Special 26 , Neeraj Pandey has proved his potential to emerge as the voice of the common man. The main highlight of the movie is the common man's frustration with those who have bent the system to accumulate wealth for themselves, and hence they try to settle the score with them by becoming con men representing authority.
The weakest part of the story is the romantic angle: its forced inclusion is badly written and just as badly enacted. Just like the songs. The dialogues are fun.

What’s Gud: Some dialogues; the jokes; the climax.

What’s Bad: Kajal’s unnecessary role/romance angle; the songs; a few unexplained bits.

Watch or Not: Special 26 is certainly one of those intelligent flicks amongst the lot, which deserves an applaud.
